COPENHAGEN on sea trials
Ferry Scandlines’ second new hybrid ferry COPENHAGEN embarked on a first set of sea trials on November 28. According to Marine Traffic, the vessel achieved a top speed of 23.4 knots during trials.
The “sea acceptance tests” were carried out in the Baltic Sea and lasted for five days. On December 1, the ship shortly called at Frederikshavn before returning to Fayard in Munkebo where she was due back late on December 2.
COPENHAGEN will replace the KRONPRINS FREDERIK on the Rostock – Gedser route at the end of year. The latter will be retained by Scandlines to serve as a relief and dangerous goods ferry both on the Rostock – Gedser and the Puttgarden – Rødby route.
