Havyard to build three diesel-electric ferries for Fjord1
FerryThe Norwegain ferry company Fjord1 has ordered three diesel-electric ferries from Havyard Ship Technology, designed and developed by Multi Maritime in Førde, for a total value of MNOK 500. Two of the ferries will be used on the route Brekstad-Valset in 2019, and the third one between Husavik-Sandvikvåg.
Construction of the ferries will start immidiately, with the first being delivered in May 2018, and the other two at the end of 2018.
The ferries with a 1 MW battery capacity will become 66.4 meters long, 14.2 meters wide and have a capacity of 50 cars, 6 trucks and 195 passengers.
