Shippax News Bulletin – 25

- In association with Interferry

Dear Subscriber,

Please find below the headlines of the news added to the Shippax website during week 25.

Photo above: Happy birthday STENA JUTLANDICA! Today, 25 June, it’s exactly 25 years ago that STENA JUTLANDICA was introduced on the Gothenburg-Frederikshavn route. Built by the then prolific builder of ro-pax ferries, the Dutch Van der Giessen-de Noord shipyard, STENA JUTLANDICA was the first ferry to comply with the Stockholm Agreement. Twenty-five years on, the 1,500-passenger and 2,111-lanemetre capacity ro-pax is still going strong, representing the transition between past and future. Following its hybridisation with a battery pack installed in 2018, STENA JUTLANDICA serves as a test bed for emission-free operations on the 50-nautical-mile Gothenburg-Frederikshavn route, something to be realised before the end of this decade. Have a nice weekend!
