Shippax News Bulletin – 26

- In association with Interferry

Dear Subscriber,

Please find below the headlines of the news added to the Shippax website during week 26.

Photo above: With the double order for Interislander’s new rail-enabled ro-pax ferries now official, the writing is on the wall for the New Zealand operator’s three ro-pax ferries currently connecting Wellington with Picton. At least, the ships will most probably not continue to operate in the Southern Hemisphere but given their age – KAITAKI is the oldest of the three Interislander ro-paxes, being built in 1995 – they might still have a few more years ahead of them when the new vessels arrive on the scene in 2025-26, unless new regulations make them obsolete. Have a nice weekend!
