A-Ships Management acquired Jadrolinija’s DUBROVNIK

Arkoumanis-controlled A-Ships Management has acquired the 1979-built DUBROVNIK from Jadrolinija, thereby making it the third ship in the fleet for the Greek operator/tonnage provider.
DUBROVNIK is currently in dry dock at the Viktor Lenac shipyard in Rijeka prior to flag change, with Greek crew already being onboard.

Scandro Holdings Ltd charters DALEELA for second consecutive year for Greece-Cyprus service

On request of the Cyprus’ Ministry of Shipping to have a connection throughout the summer period with Greece, Scandro Holdings Ltd (Aletehad Line) has for a second consecutive year decided to charter the ferry DALEELA from Arab Ship Management to take up the task.
DALEELA will go on a route between Piraeus and Limassol and Larnaca, starting at the beginning of June and last until September.

Sea Lines sells SEA ANATOLIA to Honduran operator Blue Wave

Sea-Lines has sold its 1991-built, 1,925 lanemetre capacity ro-ro SEA ANATOLIA to Honduran-based operator Blue Wave. The vessel, formerly P&O Ferries EUROPEAN SEAWAY, will be renamed BLUE WAVE HORIZON and start a new service on the Pacific coast of Central America, running between Costa Rica (Caldera) and El Salvador (La Union).

Tallink Grupp’s vessels now using shore power in Tallinn, Helsinki and Stockholm ports

On Friday, 7 April 2023, Tallink Grupp’s shuttle vessel MEGASTAR started using high voltage shore connection facilities at the Port of Helsinki West Harbour while the vessel is berthed at the quayside overnight between departures. Shore power is now used by Tallink Grupp’s vessels at the ports of Stockholm, Tallinn and Helsinki, which means fewer GHG emissions, and less noise emitted by the company’s vessels during their port stays in all the region’s major capitals.

New ForSea foot passenger record during Easter

ForSea experienced a new record during Easter for foot passengers on its Helsingborg- Helsingør service. In total there were 78,616 foot passengers during the days, 10 % better than Easter last year - and the best Easter since 1996.
DFDS March 2023 volumes
DFDS reported their March 2023 volumes. The number of passengers continued to recover and increased 76.2% to 235,000, equal to 85% of volumes in March 2019. Freight volumes were 12.0% below March 2022.
CRUISE SMERALDA to serve for Finnlines between Malmö-Travemünde

As of 13 April, Grimaldi Lines’ CRUISE SMERALDA will be operating for Finnlines on the Malmö-Travemünde route as a replacement for FINNTRADER and FINNPARTNER which both will be docked to receive refreshments and upgrades.
CRUISE SMERALDA will be a replacement during the spring and summer, and thanks to this the timetable can remain the same as usual.
Tallink Grupp signs long-term charter agreement with Bridgemans for ISABELLE

Tallink Grupp signed a contract with Canadian enterprise Bridgemans Floatel LP/Bridgemans Services Group LP for a multi-year bareboat charter of the company’s vessel ISABELLE, with a purchase option.
The Latvian-flagged ISABELLE, formerly operating on the company’s Riga-Stockholm route before the Covid pandemic, and currently housing Ukrainian refugees in Tallinn since April 2022 as part of a charter agreement with the Estonian government, will be chartered to Bridgemans from 1 July 2023.
