Channel train ferry veteran sold to UAE Company
FerryFrom Piraeus we received the yet unconfirmed news that the ro-pax ferry EXPRESS SANTORINI has been sold to the Salem Al Makrani Cargo Company, based in Dubai.
She was built in 1974 as CHARTRES, originally as a train ferry for the Dunkerque-Dover route, operated by the SNCF (French Railways).
The last few years she has been operating on the Acores, on charter to Atlanticoline.
Our source in Piraeus says that she has been renamed AL SALMY 4, and that she will leave before the end of the month.
