Crystal river ships to be redesigned for more lucrative river
Crystal Cruises has four rivercruiseships on order. Two of them were designed for the French rivers Seine, Rhone and Dordogne. Because the demand is higher on Danube and the Rhine, the ships will be redesigned and made larger than planned. The change of plan will delay them one year.
Instead of being delivered in June and August next year it will take a year longer to build CRYSTAL DEBUSSY and CRYSTAL RAVEL, reports CruiseCritic.com.
The two other ships CRYSTAL BACH and CRYSTAL MAHLER are unaffected by the change and will be delivered next summer.
The ships are being built by the northern German shipyard group MV Werften, owned by Genting Hong Kong, who also owns Crystal.
