Fjord Line introduces a permanent route change from Langesund to Kristiansand
FerryWhen traffic with STAVANGERFJORD and BERGENSFJORD resumes in May and June 2023 after their dual-fuel engine conversions, the ships will permanently sail between Bergen – Stavanger – Hirtshals – Kristiansand. There will no longer be any calls at Langesund Port.
“This is a strategic move to ensure an even better service for our passengers and freight customers on the shortest route between Norway and the continent. The change entails a higher frequency, a year-round service between Kristiansand and Hirtshals, and that our customers can choose to sail with the sister ships STAVANGERFJORD / BERGENSFJORD and the high-speed catamaran FJORD FSTR,” says Brian Thorsted Hansen, Managing Director of Fjord Line.
Fjord Line has had traffic to and from Langesund since 2014.
“I would like to thank the local community, the port authority and the municipality for their good cooperation during this period. It has been very important to Fjord Line,” Hansen says.
“Passengers who have already booked departures to or from Langesund will be rebooked to travel via Kristiansand, but if this is inconvenient, they may choose to cancel the trip or receive a gift card to be used on a different trip. We do of course apologise to the customers affected by this,” Hansen says.
Fjord Line’s other routes will not be affected by the changes.
