Godby Shipping buys AURORA from Navimag
Ro-roGodby Shipping announced that they agreed with Navimag, Chile, to purchase the ro-ro vessel AURORA, built in 1991 for Finnish owner Hollming under the name AHTELA.
Delivery will take place in January 2025 in Algeciras, Spain. The name AURORA will be kept, and after delivery the vessel will be time-chartered to Peregar, Spain, for their Algeciras-Ceuta trade. That is the same charterer and trade as MISTRAL did during spring and summer 2024.
The purchase will create work for about 25 seafarers.
AURORA is a three-deck ro-ro vessel with a sideport designed for the transport of trailers, mafis, cassettes, forest products and containers.
Navimag themselves acquired the vessel from Sea-Cargo only in February 2023.
