Great demand for Finnlines’ day cruises to Åland – minor schedule adjustments
FerryFinnlines’ day cruises to Åland have been popular since their start, and this summer they have seen a further increase in bookings. The shipping company announces that starting from 5 August, they will adjust the timetable to make the journey even smoother for travellers from Sweden.
From 5 August, it will be made easier for Swedish travellers to take day trips to Åland and back with Finnlines. The departures from Kapellskär, just north of Stockholm, and from Naantali will be delayed, and the departure from Långnäs in Åland will be brought forward, resulting in a shorter stopover and smoother ship transfer.
”Travellers from Sweden have also discovered our new ships and the cruising opportunities they offer. The minor schedule adjustments make trip planning easier. When comparing day cruises to trips with overnight stays, we find that day cruises are much more popular, especially during the summertime. We believe that one of the reasons for this is that passengers can experience both of our new ships during a single journey”, says Marco Palmu, Head of Finnlines Passenger Services.
A variety of onboard experiences are available for this summer on FINNSIRIUS and FINNCANOPUS. Enjoy the sea views from the ships’ spa areas, with saunas, hot tubs, gyms and yoga studios. There is also live music on most sailings this summer as well as an entertainment programme for the whole family. The many restaurants and bars onboard serve seasonal food and drinks which have been developed in cooperation with star chef Henri Alén, sommelier Samuil Angelov and bartender Josephine Sondlo.
”Summer bar, Under the Stars, is open for the season. The covered terrace and bar is located on the upper deck and serves snacks, ice cream, and refreshments. Here, our passengers can gather and enjoy the beautiful views over the Sea of Åland”, says Palmu.
Finnlines’ latest additions to its fleet, FINNSIRIUS and FINNCANOPUS, began operating on the Naantali–Långnäs–Kapellskär route in late 2023 and early 2024. Day cruises are available from Sweden on Mondays and Tuesdays, and from Finland from Wednesday to Sunday.
