Africa Morocco Link(s) has big ambitions
The recently started ferry company Africa Morocco Link --a joint venture between Attica Ferries and the BMCE Bank-- has the ambition to become the most important carrier on the routes between North Africa and Spain.
During the inauguration of the new ferry company in presence of the King of Morocco, Mr Othman Benjelloun, President of the BMCE Bank and one of the wealthiest men in Morocco told the media that the fleet will be expanded to six vessels, and that more routes will be added.
Now the route Tanger Med - Algeciras is being operated by DIAGORAS (recently reflagged to Morocco) and EL VENIZELOS (still Greek flag). Some sources report that a third ferry could follow soon.
In 2017 the following routes will be added, according to Benjelloun:
-Nador - Almeria
-Tanger - Sète
-Tanger - Genoa
