Armas Trasmediterránea will operate the lines that link Melilla with Almería and Motril
FerryArmas Trasmediterránea will operate the maritime lines that connect Melilla with the cities of Almería and Motril, two lines declared a public service obligation (OSP) by the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
The Directorate General of the Merchant Navy awarded the two routes for the next two years (plus two additional years), which Armas Trasmediterránea will begin to operate from January 2025.
Armas Trasmediterránea will carry out three weekly rotations in the regular maritime service for passengers and vehicles on the Almería-Melilla route, and another three rotations on the Motril-Melilla route. The shipping company will carry out additional rotations during the Christmas, Easter and summer holiday periods, as well as when there is high demand for the service.
In both cases, maritime connections will be carried out by the VOLCAN DE TIMANFAYA, a vessel with capacity for 950 passengers, 350 vehicles and 1,350 lane metres of cargo.
