Kent S. Hagbarth new Armas Trasmediterránea CEO

Armas Trasmediterránea announced the appointment of Kent S. Hagbarth as the Group's new CEO.
Kent S. Hagbarth is an international executive with more than 35 years of experience in the maritime transportation industry. Hagbarth has spent his entire career at Maersk, playing a key role in cultural change, transformation and customer experience.

His last position was Senior Vice President and Head of Operations Execution and he was responsible for global line operations at Maersk (over 800 vessels, 22 million TEU loading/unloading containers, 2,000 employees). Previously, from 2014 to 2017, he was CEO for the Mediterranean Region in charge of 22 countries, 1,100 employees and USD 4.2 billion in revenue. He has lived for more than 15 years in Spain.

Kent S. Hagbarth is especially excited to join Armas Trasmediterránea and stated: "I am delighted to join such an emblematic company as Armas Trasmediterránea. Now is the time to implement a plan that, based on the transition and transformation achieved in 2023, grow more and take advantage of all opportunities, consolidating a leading, profitable and customer-oriented operator.

In April 2023, Grupo Armas Trasmediterránea signed an agreement with its main creditors, including a group of bondholders, to facilitate the implementation of a comprehensive restructuring of the Group's capital structure and deleveraging its balance sheet. The restructuring plan was presented to the Court on 27 September 2023 and the Group is currently waiting for the approval to become effective.

Since April 2023, Sergio Vélez, head of FTI Consulting in Spain, has led the Group as interim CEO. The Board of Directors of the Armas Trasmediterránea Group appreciates the work carried out by Sergio Vélez during his mandate, who has led the transition and the change in trend of the Group, returning the EBITDA result to positive. Mr. Vélez will continue to be linked to the group as a member of the Board of Directors. FTI Consulting will continue to provide its support to ensure the smoothest transfer possible.
