It was an unusually well-attended Christmas party season for Öresundslinjen. The two newly renovated restaurants on board the electric ferries TYCHO BRAHE and AURORA attracted a total of 28,874 guests between 15 November and 26 December. Last year, the number of Christmas dinner guests during the same period amounted to 18,606, which means over 10,000 more guests this year compared to Christmas 2023.

"We are very grateful for the fantastic reception our two restaurants have received from both Swedish and Danish guests. The Swedish guests have a tradition of 'touring' and staying on board the ferries during several trips back and forth – and we are now trying to teach our Danish travelers that too," says Molslinjen's CEO, Kristian Durhuus.

It is still mostly Swedes who visit the restaurants, for example for Christmas dinners. During Christmas 2024, the distribution showed that 87.5 percent of the seats were filled by Swedish restaurant guests, 11.5 percent by Danes and the rest came from other parts of the world.

"The figures show that we still have a big upside in our Danish guests who have not yet discovered the possibility that you can have a fantastic restaurant experience on board at very reasonable prices. With good quality food and drink, great variety and a clear sustainability profile - where we measure the CO2 footprint for all dishes served, among other things - we have something that appeals to both Swedish and Danish restaurant guests," explains Kristian Durhuus.

During the whole of 2024, the two restaurants on Öresundslinjen had a visitor number that increased by 38.7 percent compared to the year before.
