Canadian Ferry Association set to meet in late September
After a three-year hiatus, the Canadian Ferry Association (CFA) is meeting in Gatineau/Ottawa from September 25-27.
The conference, attended by between 200-300 people in the past, attracts people from Canada but also from all over the world – Europe, United States, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
This event is the largest domestic ferry association meeting, most probably due to the size of the sector in Canada and the plans to spend over $5 billion in the next few years to upgrade the fleet.
Issues such as labour shortages, GHG emissions reductions, under-water noise reductions and post-pandemic recovery are key items that will undoubtedly be discussed at the conference.
CFA’s CEO, Serge Buy, remarked that there is a strong interest for the conference with people coming from across the world to be part of the discussion and the efforts to strengthen the sector not only in Canada but internationally.
