Now passengers can also travel with Stena Line's new ferry line to Finland
From 1 April, passengers arriving by car, motorbike or even bicycle can travel with Stena Line's new line from Nynäshamn to Hanko in Finland. The new route is part of Stena Line's ambition to strengthen its position in the Baltic Sea area. In the first months, it was a pure freight ferry line but has now also opened to passengers.
Stena Line's new line between Nynäshamn and Hanko is operated by the ferry URD from February this year and has for the first two months been a pure freight ferry line. But from 1 April, passengers with their own vehicle - car, motorcycle, bicycle, caravan - can also travel with Stena Line between Sweden and Finland. At present, there is a departure every other day in each direction, but already at the end of May another ferry will be added, URD's sister ship STENA GOTHICA. There will then be daily departures from each of the ports.
Hanko is a classic summer city and is well located just under two hours by car from both Turku and Helsinki. The crossing takes 13 hours and the ferry sails over the evening and night.
URD and STENA GOTHICA each have a capacity of 1,600 lanemetres and 186 passengers.
Quick facts about the Nynäshamn-Hanko line:
• Started on 1 February 2022
• Takes passengers by car, motorcycle or bicycle from 1 April 2022
• Currently three departures per week in each direction
• Full traffic with two ferries and daily departures from the end of May 2022
• Trafficked by URD and from May also STENA GOTHICA, which each has 1,600 lanemetres and takes 186 passengers
• Transit time 13 hours
