Trasmed mourns the death of Vittorio Morace, father of the CEO of the shipping company, Ettore Morace
Trasmed, the Grimaldi Group shipping company, and all its workers and collaborators mourn the loss of Vittorio Morace, father of the CEO of the Spanish shipping company, Ettore Morace, at 81 years of age.
Born on May 21, 1941, Vittorio Morace is an international benchmark in the sector and responsible for the history of fast ferry maritime connections in Italy.
He began his activity as a shipowner at a very young age with a small cargo ship in the 1970s, a time when his passion for fast boats was also born.
In the early 1980s he moved to Spain, where he inaugurated the first high-speed connections between the Canary Islands. In the 1990s he headed the shipping company 'Snav' and launched fast ferry lines from Egypt to Denmark.
At the end of the 90s he founded 'Liberty Lines', the largest Italian company and one of the most important in the world in the rapid transport of passengers thanks to a fleet of hydrofoils that connect the smaller islands of Sicily, Croatia and Greece.
With the loss of him, the shipping world says goodbye to one of the figures who have written the recent history of maritime passenger transport. Rest in peace.
