Baleària adds three weekly departures to Algeria with its new route between Valencia and Oran
FerryBaleària continues to expand its connections to Algeria with a new route that will link the port of Valencia with the port of Oran from 18 December. The company continues to diversify its operations with the North African country, and now has three weekly departures to Algeria: Valencia-Mostaganem (which has been operating since 2016), Valencia-Algiers (which began operating in October) and this new Valencia-Oran route.
Departures of this new service are scheduled for Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. from Valencia and Thursdays at 3 p.m. from Oran.
Starting on 15 January, Baleària will open a service that will connect Barcelona and Algiers for the first time, in addition to maintaining two weekly connections to Valencia: one fixed to the Algerian capital and another from Oran or Mostaganem, which will alternate each week.
Baleària's general manager, Georges Bassoul, has stressed that they want to consolidate its routes with this country: “Algeria is a strategic market for Baleària, where we have growth prospects thanks to a quality offer adapted to the needs of passengers, both in terms of services and the diversity of routes.” Bassoul also pointed out that these new routes are also important for the transport of goods between Spain and Algeria: “We offer a reliable, punctual cargo service adapted to the logistical demands of our clients to boost commercial relations between both countries.”
The ferries destined for these routes have accommodation in cabins and seats, as well as services such as a cafeteria, shop or restaurant. Baleària also has services adapted to the needs of passengers on these routes: passenger assistants speak Arabic and French, bars and restaurants offer halal food, and there are rooms dedicated to prayer. In addition, the company has telephone assistance in Arabic to resolve queries.
