BC Ferries embarks on procurement of a further four Island-class vessels, to be followed by seven new major ferries

FerryCanada’s west coast ferry operator, BC Ferries, started the official procurement process for a further four new Island-class vessels, as part of the company’s latest major newbuilding programme which will also see the Victoria, British Columbia-headquartered operator order a further seven major vessels. The seven major vessels will replace six ageing ferries and includes a seventh incremental vessel to support growth and resilience.
