Bigger ships and more cruise passengers to Malmö
Port Copenhagen Malmö Port, CMP, has been given the green light by the Maritime Administration to accommodate cruise ships in Malmö that are longer than 240 metres.
The announcement represents a major boost for cruise tourism in Malmö. Already now, over 10,000 passengers are booked for the cruise season 2018.
CMP commissioned extensive simulations in Gothenburg to see if it was possible to receive larger vessels, with very positive results.
Now CMP has received approval to receive ships of up to 300 meters.
