Øresundslinjen launches a new bus route from Copenhagen to Gothenburg
With up to 20 weekly departures and seven strategic stops, Kombardo Expressen will offer a new, flexible and affordable transport solution to the Øresund region. With a brand-new bus route between Copenhagen and Gothenburg, Øresundslinjen, will embark on a journey with the bus company, Kombardo Expressen.
The route, which will be called Øresund Expressen on a daily basis, will offer new, flexible and affordable transport for tourists, commuters, students and families in the Øresund region from 8 May 2025.
With Kombardo Expressen, Molslinjen has created a bus success in Denmark, where buses across the country and to and from Bornholm are combined with the company's fast ferries. Now the combination between bus and ferry is also to be introduced in the Øresund region.
"We hope we can take the Swedish market by storm, as we have done in Denmark. We are the only ones who can offer the comfort of a long-distance bus with a relaxing ferry ride," says Molslinjen's CEO, Kristian Durhuus.
The buses will have up to 20 departures per week, starting at Copenhagen Airport (CPH) towards Gothenburg and stopping along the way in Copenhagen, Lyngby, Helsingør, Helsingborg and Halmstad. The trip all the way from the bus terminal in Copenhagen to Gothenburg is expected to take four hours and 30 minutes.
"Long-distance buses are a flexible concept that can be scaled up and down quite quickly in relation to demand - and if successful, the route network can be expanded with new destinations and stops," says Kristian Durhuus.
The trips will be operated by Danish company Vikingbus, which also operates the buses for Bornholm Expressen. Only comfortable double-decker buses will be used, and prices will start from DKK 119 and SEK 179.
Tickets are on sale from 7 April, on Kombardo Expressen's website. The first trip on the new route will be on 8 May from Copenhagen.
