Taiwan bound PENGHU launched in Japan
FerryA new ro-pax ferry for Taiwan Navigation was launched at Naikai Zosen Setoda shipyard in Onomichi, Hiroshima prefecture, Japan. The new ro-pax named PENGHU is scheduled to enter service between Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Magong, Penghu Island in September 2023.
PENGHU measures about 119.99 meters, with a beam of 21.00 meters and draft of 8.00 meters. She can carry up to 632 passengers, as well as 80 cars, four buses, containers, etc. Two Daihatsu 8DKM-36e type diesel engines (4,400kW x 2) provide a service speed of 19.3knots.
