TT-Line’s first next-generation ro-pax floated out
FerryTT-Line’s first ‘green’ ro-pax under construction at Nanjing Jinling Shipyard’s Yizheng facility was floated out on 10 November. Slated for delivery in 2022, the LNG-powered ro-pax represents the first such project for the Chinese yard which is also behind Grimaldi Group’s GG5G Class and DFDS’s 6,695-lanemetre ro-ro series.

Designed by OSK-ShipTech, the yet unnamed ro-pax ferry – believed to be PETER PAN – will have a capacity of 4,600 freight lanemetres spread over four decks and 800 passengers. The 45,000gt dual fuel ferry has a length of 229.4m, 31m beam and 6.7m draft. Twenty charging stations will be available to re-charge electric cars during the crossing from Trelleborg to Germany and v.v.
The propulsion system, including two 8L51/60DF and two 6L51/60DF main engines with a total output of 29,400kW, two cp propellers and two 500m³ LNG tanks, has been supplied by MAN.
