Fjord1 has been awarded seven ferry routes
FerryHordaland County awarded Fjord1 with seven Norwegian ferry routes as from 2018.
Krokeide-Hufthamar
Husavik-Sandvikvåg (Fjord1 recently lost sister route Halhjem-Sandvikvag to Torghatten, for which four new 130m long ferries are expected )
Sløvåg-Leirvåg
Fedje-Sævrøy
Halhjem-Våge
Hatvik-Venjaneset
Langevåg-Buavåg
The average age of the current operated fleet is about 30 years old and as per tender Fjord1 is committed to reduce fuel consumption by 60% and emission by 87% by 2020.
We can expect a tsunami of new ferry orders in the coming months, and battery operated ships are very likely.
