- It is becoming increasingly important for both us and our customers to choose environmentally friendly solutions. The requirements that are imposed on us, as a transport partner, are to provide services that reduce the carbon footprint of each consignment. We therefore invest considerable resources in developing environmentally friendly transport solutions, says Kjell-Arne Eloranta, Managing Director at FREJA Transport & Logistics AS.

For a number of years, FREJA has used Color Line's ships between Kiel and Oslo to ensure the highest quality possible for our customers, for example. pickup and delivery in Norway with Norwegian drivers. FREJA is already Color Line's largest customer and now wants to invest further in developing our environmentally friendly intermodal solutions and this new ship and train solution reduces CO2 emissions by as much as 50% according to Color Line.

A solution with many benefits
In addition to the environmental aspect, the driver shortage in Europe will not affect your freight. Our permanent talented partners in Norway and Italy haul the goods to and from the arrival / departure terminal. We can load several kg per trailer; on trains we can load 29 tonnes per trailer while on the road we have to deal with 24.5 tonnes per trailer which is the maximum limit in large parts of Europe. In addition, there are strict rules for Sunday driving as well as other regulations for when heavy transport can be on the road.

A milestone
- The commitment to a Color Line Cargo train on the route between Kiel and Verona, in collaboration with FREJA, among others, is a milestone in our strategy to make Europe more accessible to our carriers and product owners, says Terje Røli, Vice President of Color Line Cargo .
