MIMER in CMA CGM service
CMA CGM to charter MIDAS until December 2026
Ro-roCMA CGM has time chartered Godby Shipping’s MIDAS until December 2026. MIDAS will, before starting the charter, go through class renewal docking in Turkey. After the dry dock, MIDAS will replace MIMER in the Caribbean, and MIMER will go for her class renewal docking and is then open for new adventures. Godby estimate that the dry docking of the vessels will prolong their lifetime by about 10 years.
MIMER and MIDAS have been running the Leeward Island traffic for CMA CGM continuously since April 2012. The line is an inter-Caribbean feeder service connecting CMA CGM ocean services with several smaller Caribbean destinations. The main ports are Point A Pitre, Philipsburg, San Juan, Charlotte Amalie, Christiansted, Road Town, Gustavia and Basseterre. The cargo carried is mainly containers, trailers and other ro-ro units loaded with consumer goods and industrial products.
MIDAS is currently on charter to DFDS until 31 September.
