Japan’s Shin Nihonkai Ferry sells cruise vessel PACIFIC VENUS to South Korea’s DuWon Shipping
CruiseSouth Korea’s DuWon Shipping has acquired the Japanese cruise ship PACIFIC VENUS from Shin Nihonkai Ferry and will rename the vessel EASTERN VENUS following a refurbishment programme in China.
The 1998-built 26,561gt vessel has previously sailed for the Japanese ferry operator's subsidiary cruise line Venus Cruise Line.
The 183m vessel will undergo upgrading work at China's Huanghai Shipbuilding, in Shidao, before making South Korea's first entry into the Asian cruise market in 2024 for her new owners.
